You have changed the appearance of one material and saved the changes to the current active Material Library.
This is a question that comes into Autodesk Support frequently.
One reason might be that it comes down to how Inventor resolves (finds) files.
Refreshing content A dialog box appears showing you which content is out of date.
Clicking the Refresh button will update any content in the assembly.
A popular practice is that more than one project file is used in the Vault.
Maybe it was considered an appropriate workflow to place IAM's into a library folder. One way to explain it is as follows In Inventor, using the Library.
You have copied some model i Properties in the drawing file of the model, following for instance the steps described in this article.
Of course you want to keep the model and drawing properties in sync, but you want to do that automatically, without having to remember to hit the “Update Copied Properties” button in the drawing.
Once you've made that backup, click next, and go to the next step. After the update is done, You'll see a confirmation screen, Inventor will ask you if you want to create a log, if you'd like. Join the Autodesk Virtual Academy community and never stop learning.
Inventor will ask which libraries you'd like to update. After this, your library is updated, and it's ready to start using. This is great for new content that you're going to place, but what about older assemblies that have content from your previous versions? When you have an assembly that contains older content, go to the Manage tab, and look for the Refresh button on the Content Center panel.
